We are still whistling and waiting while I try to cram every parenting and adoption book into my brain during this time. I’m on book 5 for 2013 so far. It is only the third week of the year.
Days continue to go by without any news, but we got a tiny bit of information on Friday. We were told that the guardian looking after these kids (who will have a big role in choosing the adoptive parents) has not yet seen any homestudys as CPS has not passed any along yet. I’ve been telling myself that the guardian saw our homestudy and just did not like us. In fact, the guardian has not seen any and still wants to meet us.
We are praying CPS will move this along and God will guide CPS as they choose which homestudys to share with the guardian. From what I hear CPS does not move things along quickly. These kids are in a safe place and for this I am grateful. I continue to pray they are loved and getting many hugs each day, and feel safe, and that God will protect them from the bondage of confusion, guilt, anger, bitterness and resentment. They have sure seen a lot of change in their young lives and there is still more to come.
The days have been hurried for us lately. I’ve had to take a lot of time off to get my mother to a new round of doctor appointments. God knows what we can handle, and when. He knows what the kids can handle too, and when. I am sure they need this routine and sweet time with their guardian before the placement.
God’s timing is perfect. His plan is perfect. We remain singing ‘One Day at a Time’ and ‘Trust and Obey’ and ‘Onward Christian Soldiers.’ You’d think a Baptist hymnal from the 1980s was engraved into my heart lately.
